In our hospital pharmacy, you will experience all facets of modern hospital pharmacy: from dispensing medicines to producing cytostatics.

Structured internship plan

A structured rotation plan ensures that you get to know all areas of the hospital pharmacy during your internship. You can deepen your knowledge in seminars.

Research-oriented work

You will gain insights into how we support research through study medication in collaboration with the Center for Clinical Studies.

Closed-loop medication

Experience how we automatically and individually package medicines in the automated Uni-Dose system, thereby increasing patient safety to the maximum.

Three of the six months of practical training to become a pharmaceutical-technical assistant (PTA) can be completed in the hospital pharmacy at Cologne University Hospital.

We will give you an in-depth insight into the various areas of PTA work in a hospital pharmacy in a university environment. In order to meet the requirements of the training plan and the PTA diary, your internship with us will focus on the production of medicines and quality control.

The internship lasts 6 months.

Yes, the pharmacy internship with us is recognized in accordance with § 4 of the licensing regulations.

You create information for colleagues in medicine and nursing.
On our interprofessional training ward (IPSTA), you will care for patients in a team made up of various specialist areas.
You will gain your first insights into the closed-loop medication management Unit Dose.
You will provide support in the preparation of parenteral nutrition solutions, formulas and formulations tailored to the needs of our patients.
You will process inquiries about dosage forms and individual preparations.
In the area of central cytostatic preparation, you will gain an insight into the individual treatment of tumor diseases.
In quality control, you will be involved in the development and optimization of test methods for medicinal products and raw materials.

Please note: A completed second state examination in pharmacy is required for a pharmacy internship with us.
