Frequently asked questions / FAQ
ATA training lasts three years. Theory and practice alternate in blocks. In our clinic's own school on campus, 20 trainees learn in each training course, who grow together over time to form a real unit. The curriculum includes, for example, general and special anesthesia, anatomy and physiology, pathology, pharmacy, hygiene and microbiology, communication, sociology, psychology and hospital management.
You will receive practical training in the operating theaters of the various clinics and polyclinics and in certain functional areas, such as the cardiac catheterization laboratory or the pain outpatient clinic at Cologne University Hospital. Good to know: During the practical training units, qualified practical instructors are always on hand to answer questions and guide you through your first steps in the profession.
The future prospects are excellent: Many doors are open to you after your training, including with us, of course. We have a wide range of opportunities for you in our many operating theaters and even have our own career model that allows you to develop in a way that suits you and your life.
You are welcome to apply using the online form, which you can find under all current vacancies for apprenticeships. Unfortunately, we cannot consider e-mail applications.
